Climate Conference 2022 | Mohammed bin Salman launches the Green Middle East initiative, which aims to reach zero neutrality in 2050

Weather of Arabia - His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, launched today, Monday, the Green Middle East Initiative on the sidelines of the COP27 summit in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

In his speech, the Crown Prince said: I am pleased to be among you today and convey to you the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his wishes for the success of this summit.

In his speech, the Crown Prince said: "We hope that the summit will achieve outcomes that establish a bright future, noting that the Kingdom aims to find solutions in order to provide more sustainable energy systems."

He added, "We aim to reach zero-neutrality in 2050, and we seek for renewable energy to represent 50% of our consumption in 2030."
