Corona virus infection rate increased by 94% this week compared to last week

Weather of Arabia - The Ministry of Health announced today, Sunday, that 4 deaths and 4,763 infections with the Corona virus were recorded in the 29th epidemiological week of 2022, during the period from 16 to 22 July.

The ministry told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the weekly report of injuries showed an increase in cases, compared to the previous week, by 94 percent.

The number of (PCR) tests that were conducted during the week numbered 40,380, compared to 16,948 during the previous week, with an increase of about 138 percent, and the percentage of positive tests reached 11.8 percent, compared to 14.5 percent during the previous epidemiological week.

The report showed that the number of cases currently receiving treatment in hospitals is 52 cases, compared to 27 cases during the previous week, and the number of active cases is 3896 cases, compared to 2231 cases during the previous week, an increase of about 74 percent.

Regarding the vaccination file, the ministry explained that the number of doses given during week 29 reached 2041 for the first dose compared to 799 during the previous week, for the second dose 1826 compared to 607, and for the third dose 1514 compared to 565, with a total of 5381 compared to 2070 during the previous week. The previous 28 week, with an increase of about 160 percent.

The total number of the first dose amounted to 4,808,699 at a rate of about 75.1 percent of the target group 18 years and over, while the second dose amounted to 4547125 by 71 percent of the target group 18 years and over, and the third dose was 670,263 doses.

In terms of vaccination in the age group 12-17 years, it showed that the number of recipients of the first dose was 237793 at a rate of 25, and the second dose was 202739 at a rate of 20 percent. As for the vaccination in the age group of 5-11 years, the first dose amounted to 293 and for the second dose 215 doses.
