Arab Weather App - The Kingdom will be affected, God willing, by a new low-pressure system classified as third degree (moderate - highly effective), starting from the north of the Kingdom on the morning of Thursday, January 1, 2026, and intensifying in the evening to include the center of the Kingdom and the southwestern regions, especially Karak.

Timeline of the low:

From the beginning of the day until noon on Thursday, January 1, 2026:

Cold weather prevails, with heavy rain falling across the north of the Kingdom, causing significant flash flooding in valleys and wadis. Wind speeds are high in most areas, while the rest of the country remains temporarily free of rain, except for some parts of the central region.

Thursday evening/Friday night:

The low-pressure system will extend its influence to the central regions, including the capital Amman, Balqa, Zarqa, and Madaba, then gradually reach Karak by midnight and dawn on Friday. Heavy rain is expected at intervals, and due to the soil saturation from previous rains, the following is expected:

1. Very large flow of valleys and reefs.
2. Flash floods and torrential rains, including in the northern and central Jordan Valley, and water accumulations on roads.
3. The possibility of soil and rock erosion.

Friday dawn and morning:

The cold front continues to cross the southern regions of the Kingdom, specifically Karak, the Dead Sea region and the Jordan Valley, and heavy rains are falling there. The chances of rain extend towards Tafila. The rainfalls are heavy, which causes the continued risks of flash floods, overflowing valleys and soil and rock erosion.

In the rest of the northern and central regions, rain continues intermittently, with dense fog forming over the mountain highlands.

Friday, January 2, 2026:

The low pressure system is moving away from the Kingdom, and humid air currents continue, and cold weather prevails with the appearance of clouds at different altitudes. The chances of rain continue from time to time in the north and center of the Kingdom and some southern highlands.

Friday night/Saturday morning:

Jordan is affected by the extension of the Siberian high-pressure system, so the chances of rain decrease and the amount of clouds decreases, and the weather becomes very cold and bitterly cold in the desert and the Shara Mountains, with widespread frost occurring in agricultural areas inside and outside the cities, with the exception of the Jordan Valley and Aqaba.

Expected rainfall amounts:

* Northern regions: 40–80 mm, and may exceed this locally.
* Other areas: 10–40 mm.
