Wadi Al-Hasa is a desert valley located between the Karak and Tafila governorates, where its torrents flow into the south of the Dead Sea at the town of Al-Safi. The valley extends for a distance of approximately 40 kilometers, and includes many modern and historical facilities and farms. The valley’s water flows throughout the year due to the presence of a number of springs that feed it, especially in the part located in Tafila Governorate. The valley is considered longer and wider than Wadi Mujib, located to the north of it.
The valley forms part of the Dead Sea water basin in Jordan, as its torrents feed the southern side of the Dead Sea. The area of the valley basin alone is about 2,500 square kilometers. The valley’s waters are collected from valleys and desert torrents whose range extends to the Al-Jafr region, to be transported to the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea.
