The study added that the possibility of people who frequently use public transportation to be infected with corona was about 1.3 times higher than others. Bus users were 1.3 times more likely to receive infection, followed by taxi users 1.19 times, and finally train or tram users 1.18 times.
Other high-risk activities, according to the study, included eating indoors in a restaurant or café, going to work, and going to the gym.
The study team confirmed that they did not find any increased risks for those who attend the theatre, cinema, concert or sporting event, go to the barbershop or hairdresser, or eat outdoors in a restaurant or café.
However, the time period analyzed did not include any data from the last Omicron wave of cases only captured from mid-December.
The researchers indicated that they need to conduct a more extensive study, noting the small number of young people in the study group, which may have affected the results of the study.
