Arab Weather - The latest outputs of the numerical models processed by the Arab Weather Regional Center indicate the return of northwesterly wind activity over Iraq in the coming days, as the northern or northwesterly winds will be moderate to active in speed in general, and will be accompanied by strong gusts in the southeast of the country that will stir up dust and dirt and may form dust waves, which will cause a decrease in horizontal visibility.

Dust and dirt caused by strong winds

Active winds are expected to stir up dust, especially in southern Iraq, where dust concentrations are high and horizontal visibility may decrease. The Arab Weather website advises paying attention to the risk of increased dust in the atmosphere in many areas and its impact on patients with respiratory diseases, eyes, and horizontal visibility.

The weather in the coming days will be very hot and dusty in different parts of Iraq, with varying degrees, especially in the south, where the maximum temperature in the capital, Baghdad, will reach mid-forties, God willing, while it will touch mid-fifties in the southern regions, especially Basra, Maysan and the surrounding areas, and the weather will be blazing.
