Arab Weather - Active winds are blowing across Iraq, starting from the western regions, causing a sandstorm to form, according to the latest satellite images. The sandstorm is expected to gradually expand over the coming hours towards the rest of the central and southern regions, including the capital, Baghdad, where the weather will be heavily dusty and there will be a significant decrease in horizontal visibility, which may reach zero, coinciding with strong winds.
On Tuesday, temperatures will drop compared to previous days, reaching average levels for this time of year. The weather will be generally hot and dusty, with clouds appearing at medium and high altitudes. There's a chance of thunderstorms in parts of the north of the country.
While temperatures will reach the mid-40s in the southern regions, the weather will be extremely hot, with moderate southwesterly winds, which will be active at times and will cause sandstorms in desert and open areas.
According to the latest numerical model outputs, cumulus clouds are expected to continue forming over parts of the northern mountains in the border areas, and there is a chance of rainfall in parts of those areas today and in the coming days. The rain will be thundery and heavy at times, accompanied by hail.
God knows best.
