The Ministry of Water and Irrigation announced on Sunday morning that the total amount of water that entered the dams during the period of instability that affected the Kingdom from Saturday evening until Sunday morning was 3.6 million m³, raising the total storage in the dams to 49.5 million m³, with a total storage rate of 17.2% of their total storage capacity of 288,128 million m³.
According to the ministry, the rainfall rate for the season has increased to 12.5% of the long-term annual average of about 8.1 billion m³ annually, while the highest rainfall was recorded in the city of Aqaba, reaching 36.9 mm.
Large parts of the Kingdom were affected yesterday, Saturday, by unstable weather conditions, as cumulonimbus clouds multiplied and moderate to heavy rain fell in large parts of the Kingdom.
