Arab Weather App - Weather experts at Arab Weather said that the southern highlands of the Kingdom, God willing, will experience the first snowfall of this season at dawn and on Wednesday morning, December 17, 2025, as there is a chance of snow showers, which may accumulate at times, especially over the highlands of Al-Hisha and Al-Shawbak, and may disrupt traffic on the roads.

In detail, God willing, the Kingdom is expected to be gradually affected, starting Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, by a very cold air mass moving in from the northeast. This will coincide with renewed precipitation, concentrated in the south of the Kingdom, beginning Wednesday morning. God willing, the precipitation will take the form of snow showers on the peaks of Tafilah, specifically in the Rashadiyah and Qadisiyah areas. These snowfalls will then extend rapidly towards the western Ma'an highlands, including the Shobak and Heisha highlands, as well as the southern Taybeh highlands, and will also include parts of the Desert Highway and Ras al-Naqab.

According to advanced computer simulations conducted within Arab Weather, some of these snow showers are expected to be heavy and lead to accumulations, especially on the peaks of the Sharah Mountains west of Ma’an, including the Ras al-Naqab area and the desert road leading to and from Aqaba.

God willing, until noon and afternoon there will be a chance of intermittent snow showers on the high peaks of the Sharah Mountains west of Ma’an Governorate, in addition to the Umm al-Dami area and its surroundings, while the chances of snow showers will decrease on Wednesday evening and night/Thursday, with freezing conditions occurring in the areas that witnessed snowfall.

In response to this question, weather experts at Arab Weather said that the infiltration of very cold winds into the Kingdom will begin at dawn and on Wednesday morning, and will coincide, God willing, with the possibility of some precipitation, especially in the central and eastern parts of the Kingdom. It is not unlikely that some rain showers mixed with snow will fall, which may include neighborhoods of the capital, Amman, especially the southern ones, in addition to some areas of the governorates of Madaba and Karak, for a short period.
