Weather of Arabia - The Ministry of Local Administration announced a state of medium emergency, starting from Thursday, according to the developments of the depression currently affecting Jordan, which is accompanied by heavy rainfall in the north and center of the Kingdom and some southern regions, according to the bulletin issued by the Meteorological Department.
The depression is also accompanied by dust storms in the southern and eastern regions of the Kingdom, accompanied by strong winds, with low horizontal visibility and sometimes lack thereof in some areas.
On Thursday, the Ministry of Public Works and Housing warned pedestrians of external roads of the possibility of low visibility; Due to dust resulting from wind speed in the eastern and southern regions, and as a result of heavy rains, coinciding with the prevailing weather conditions in most regions of the Kingdom.
In a press release issued by the Information and Communication Unit, the Ministry confirmed the readiness of its cadres, which are equipped with the necessary equipment, to deal with all weather conditions. To process the comments received by it within 24 hours through its 98 teams distributed over the various governorates of the Kingdom.
The Ministry of Local Administration has asked the main emergency rooms in the ministry, municipalities, joint services councils, and municipal affairs directorates in governorates and districts to deal immediately with any emergency events that may accompany the depression.
The Ministry emphasized that the municipalities, joint services councils and municipal affairs directorates in the governorates and districts should follow up on the situation of dangerous and hot areas in them, and ensure that rainwater flows naturally into torrents, valleys and rainwater drainage networks, and inspects and installs signs, billboards, and solid volatile objects, and ensures that Pruning tree branches near the power grid lines, in addition to inspecting and making sure that equipment, mechanisms and vehicles that will be operated during emergency situations are prepared, with the need to provide a sufficient reserve of fuel for all mechanisms.
The ministry asked the municipalities, councils and directorates to inform their main operations room of developments in a timely manner, and to coordinate and cooperate fully with the administrative rulers and other operating rooms of the Ministry of Public Works, Interior, Civil Defense, the Jordanian Armed Forces and the Greater Amman Municipality in their regions and to provide all efforts and capabilities available to them to confront emergency cases and events that May accompany depression and accompanying developments.
