Arab Weather - Director of the Meteorology Department, Raed Rafid Al Khattab, stated that November 2024 witnessed weak rainfall performance in most regions of the Kingdom, with the exception of some northern regions and the central Jordan Valley, which recorded good rates compared to the general seasonal average.

Throughout the month, the Kingdom was affected by one case of atmospheric instability in the first third of the month and a Siberian cold wave accompanied by some rain in the last third, and thus 11 rainy days were recorded in various regions.

November ends with poor rainfall

According to the Meteorological Department, November rains constitute about 9% of the season’s average rainfall, which is considered a small percentage when compared to the annual average throughout the year and compared to the winter square rains, which constitute the largest percentage of rainfall in the Kingdom.

Regarding rainfall performance, Al Khattab indicated that the highest monthly rainfall total was recorded in the central Jordan Valley at Deir Alla monitoring station with 58.2 mm (20% of the general seasonal average), followed by Ras Munif station with 34.6 mm (6% of the general seasonal average), while the central and southern regions performed less well, as Salt station recorded 21.0 mm (4%), and Rabbah station 17.0 mm (5%) of its general seasonal average.

Despite ending with a Siberian wave, November ends with temperatures around average

According to the data of the Meteorological Department, the monthly average maximum temperature in the capital Amman (Amman Civil Airport) for the month of November was 20.3 degrees Celsius, which is identical to the general average for the same month, while the monthly average minimum temperature rose by 0.7 degrees Celsius above its general average of 10.1 degrees Celsius, despite the cold nights witnessed in the last third of the month.

Lowest and highest temperatures in the capital Amman

The lowest minimum temperature recorded in Amman was 3.6°C on November 27, while the highest maximum temperature was 25.0°C on November 2.

Lowest and highest temperatures in the Kingdom

According to the monitoring stations of the Meteorology Department, the highest maximum temperature in the Kingdom was recorded at Ghor Al Safi station, reaching 33.4 degrees Celsius on November 2, while the Shobak station recorded the lowest minimum temperature, reaching 3.9 degrees Celsius below zero on November 27.
