Arab Weather App - The Kingdom began to be affected since dawn on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, by the leading edge of a low-pressure system in the form of unstable weather conditions that caused rainfall in several areas, including neighborhoods of the capital and the governorates of Irbid, Jerash and Ajloun, while the rainfall was concentrated in the southern regions. It is noted that this rainfall comes at the forefront of a low-pressure system that will cross the Kingdom’s skies tomorrow, God willing.
God willing, a slight decrease in temperatures is expected, becoming 3-5 degrees Celsius below average on Thursday, December 11, 2025. Showers are possible in the morning hours in some areas, concentrated in the southwestern regions, accompanied by fog formation.
But during the afternoon, evening, and night hours, a low-pressure system classified as a third-degree (moderate-high effectiveness) will cross the Kingdom's skies. The low-pressure system is characterized by its slow movement, as the weather will gradually become completely cloudy, with regular rainfall and its impact expanding to bring cold, cloudy, and rainy weather to the Kingdom, God willing. These rains will be heavy at times and continuous for several hours in some areas, especially in the south of the central region, including the southern areas of the capital Amman and the Dead Sea, in addition to Madaba, reaching the governorates of Karak and Tafila. They may be accompanied by lightning and thunder at times, especially at their beginning, which will lead to the flow of valleys, the formation of torrents, and the formation of water accumulations on roads. The rains will be accompanied by the passage of quantities of low clouds touching the ground surface, which will lead to the formation of dense fog over the high mountain peaks.
During the night hours of Thursday/Friday, the weather will be cold, cloudy, and rainy, God willing, in various regions of the Kingdom, especially the south of the central region and the southern regions. The rain will be heavy at times, and it is expected that low-lying clouds will cross the mountainous areas, which will cause a clear decrease in horizontal visibility on the roads.
Temperatures will rise slightly but will remain 2-4 degrees Celsius below average. The weather will be cold and partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy, with fog forming in the morning in the high mountains. Rain is expected from time to time, God willing, and its concentration will gradually shift to the southern mountain highlands. The winds will be moderate, westerly to southwesterly.
During the evening and night hours, i.e., Friday/Saturday night, the weather will be generally cold and the amount of clouds will decrease, except for the southern highlands, where there is still a chance of scattered rain in those areas. Dense fog is expected to gradually form in several regions of the Kingdom, God willing.
The final rainfall amounts after the departure of the low-pressure system are expected to range from 40 to 100 mm in some areas, especially in the south of Amman Governorate, Madaba, Karak and Tafila. Such an amount is considered a good boost for the rainy season, God willing, which has been suffering from a great scarcity of rainfall since its beginning.
And God knows best.
