Weather of Arabia - The cadres and mechanisms of the Jordan Valley Authority / Water Resources Department of the Southern Jordan Valley, since the early morning hours of Sunday, corresponding to 1/1/2023, have been present in the Dabbat Al-Karm area, west of Ma'an Governorate, and in cooperation with the relevant authorities represented by the Joint Services Council of Ma'an Governorate and the Ma'an Works Directorate And the Civil Defense Authority to take all necessary precautions in anticipation of any emergency to protect the lands adjacent to the stream of the Al-Wahidi Dam by making protections in the areas located below the Al-Wahidi Dam lake and making earthen berms to prevent water from flowing towards the population centers as a protection for the neighboring citizens.

The Jordan Valley Authority confirmed that its shift teams in all of the Authority's departments in the Jordan Valley will work around the clock to take all measures to meet the needs of citizens and deal with developments in the prevailing weather situation with all responsibility and professionalism.

The Jordan Valley Authority affirms the continuity of the presence of its cadres and mechanisms, along with the cadres and mechanisms of the Joint Services Council, Civil Defense and the Directorate of Works of Ma’an Governorate, at the site until this moment, in light of the Meteorological Department’s expectations of the formation of torrential rains in the southern regions during the coming hours.

It is indicated here that the Al-Wahidi Dam has reached its maximum storage capacity in the last depression, which amounts to about 750 thousand cubic meters, and it is one of the desert dams that was established in 2011 to prevent floods from the population centers in the region.
