Arab Weather - God willing, temperatures are expected to be 7-9 degrees Celsius higher than their usual average for this time of year today.
The weather will be generally hot in the highlands and very hot in the rest of the region. Temperatures will be around 40 degrees Celsius in large areas, including parts of the capital, Amman, while they will approach the mid-40s in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and near the Gulf of Aqaba, in addition to some desert areas.
As the day progresses, medium and high clouds increase, and in the afternoon and evening hours, the opportunity arises for some clouds to develop into cumulus clouds in random areas, especially in the desert and eastern plains, which leads to thunder, lightning and sudden descending winds that lead to the formation of wall-mounted dust storms that lead to a decrease and absence of horizontal visibility. These cumulus clouds are also accompanied by random showers of rain in narrow geographical areas, which may be heavy in limited areas, leading to the flow of valleys and desert ravines in a manner that is considered extremely rare for this time of year in the summer.
It is not unlikely that some of the sandstorms will extend their effects to some major cities, including parts of the capital.
Winds will be light and variable, but sudden downdrafts are expected in the afternoon and evening hours, with the formation of cumulus clouds accompanied by strong gusts, leading to the formation of dense dust waves.
And God knows best.
