Birkat Al-Arais, a natural geological heritage, has been laid to rest.
The origin of the word "koura"
"Al-Koura": (ALKOURA) The name is of Greek origin (Kois) (CHOROC) and its meanings include region, district, or area. It is also an Islamic Umayyad administrative organization that means (the region); that is, the area where agricultural villages are gathered. It has a town, and its plural is kour.
Koura District: "Koura" is one of the districts of the North Lebanon Governorate (Tripoli). It is located between the western slopes of the western Lebanon Mountain Range and the Mediterranean coast.
There has been a twinning agreement between the two countries (Jordan and Lebanon) since 1998 AD, as they are brought together by similarities in leadership in education and geographical nature, evidenced by the blessed olive tree that covers most of the agricultural lands in both of them.
