Pictures: Mud houses in Najran, thousands of years old artifacts

ArabiaWeather.com - The Najran region in southwestern Saudi Arabia is considered one of the Arab regions richest in historical heritage, as the region contains a large group of archaeological sites that tell the story of the rich heritage region.

Until today, the Najran region has preserved the old architectural form of the building, which is represented in very distinctive mud buildings scattered on the sides of the Najran Valley, which number up to 230 mud houses, and the view of these houses, along with the agricultural nature of Najran, forms very wonderful natural paintings.

The Najran region also contains other archaeological artifacts, on top of which is the ancient city of Al-Ukhdood, which was mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, and whose construction dates back more than 1750 years.

These heritage areas suffer from the neglect of tourism promotion in terms of the media, and this leads to the lack of knowledge of many in Saudi Arabia about the great archaeological treasures that their homeland contains.
