Pollution in Beijing.. the number of complainants has doubled

ArabiaWeather.com - The Environment Bureau in Beijing, China , stated that the number of air pollution complaints in the Chinese capital doubled in the first five months of 2014, compared to the same period last year compared to the first quarter of last year.

He said that the number of citizens who filed official complaints against smog reached 12,599, during the period from January to May, an increase of 124% over the same period last year!

According to the Environment Bureau, 72.6 percent of all environmental complaints filed with authorities in Beijing from January to May were caused by smog.

It is noteworthy that the Chinese capital, Beijing, which is covered by smog dangerously most of the time, comes at the forefront of countries fighting pollution.

Last March, Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang declared his war against pollution to avert discontent over air, river and soil pollution.

It is noteworthy that officials in China are making extensive efforts to show and support citizens in the war against pollution and provide them with a number of services that help them to do so, such as opening hotlines, forming task forces and rapid intervention teams, and also encouraging participation in campaigns against violators.
