The media spokesman confirmed that the first report was received by the West Ma'an Police Directorate regarding floods surrounding a group of tourists in the Petra area, where 14 tourists were dealt with and evacuated without any notable injuries, while the search is still ongoing for two (a mother and her son) who are still missing.

He confirmed that rescue teams in Tafilah Governorate began searching for a child who was reported missing while herding sheep in the Hasa area near the torrents.

The Public Security Directorate reiterates its repeated warnings about the need to exercise caution and avoid walking near floodwaters and low-lying areas.
