The Public Security Directorate warned of the expected low-pressure system affecting the Kingdom on Wednesday, with temperatures dropping and showers of rain falling in the north of the Kingdom, extending to the central, eastern, and southwestern regions. The rain may be heavy for a short period and accompanied by thunder and hail, according to weather bulletins issued by the competent authorities.
The Directorate called for taking the necessary precautions, adopting proper behavior, and the need to stay away from the sides of valleys, places where torrents form, and low-lying areas, especially in the north and center of the Kingdom, and not to risk crossing water bodies, whether on foot or by vehicles.
She also stressed the importance of driving cautiously on roads that may experience rainfall and taking precautions due to reduced horizontal visibility caused by fog over mountainous areas and dust in desert areas and on desert roads.
She called for caution due to the high wind speeds and strong gusts, and the need to secure objects that could be blown away.
She stressed the need for the safe and proper use of all types of heating appliances, not refueling them while they are lit, turning them off when sleeping, providing proper ventilation for homes continuously, and not using wood stoves because of their negative effects that result in cases of suffocation.
She emphasized the readiness of all staff to deal with various incidents and the need to call the unified emergency number 911 if the need arises.
