Saudi Arabia | Announcing the discovery of important sites rich in gold and copper within the Kingdom

Weather of Arabia - Sinan Khalaf - The authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia revealed the discovery of new natural sites rich in gold and copper in the western sector of the Kingdom.

The Geological Survey said that the discovered sites are located within the boundaries of Aba Al-Raha, "Umm Al-Barak Shield, Al-Hijaz Region" in the Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah region.

It announced the discovery of copper ore, in four sites in the Al-Madiq region in Wadi Al-Fara' in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, and described promising quantities of special copper deposits, chalcocite Cu2S, as well as some secondary copper carbonate minerals such as malachite and azurite.

The authority described the discoveries as a distinct event to be added to the list of discoveries during 2022, which will accelerate the pace of mining investment in the Kingdom.
