Weather of Arabia - Saudi Arabia announced, on Friday (March 25), the reopening of the visa on arrival program, which allows visitors from the United States, Britain and the "Schengen" area to obtain an entry visa at Saudi airports after stopping for about two years due to the Corona pandemic.

This step comes two weeks after the Kingdom lifted all entry restrictions related to the Corona pandemic, and with it, conditions returned to normal before the pandemic, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Friday.

Holders of one of the three visas, and those traveling through one of the national airlines "Saudi Airlines, flynas and flyadeal" can obtain a 12-month tourist visa upon arrival in the Kingdom, without the need to submit a prior application.

Visitors who hold a valid visa for the United States, the United Kingdom or the Schengen area must use it at least once to enter the region that issued the visa before using it to enter the Kingdom.

The option of a visa on arrival is available to citizens of countries eligible for the electronic visa program that was launched in 2019, and all visitors are required to obtain medical insurance against the risks of Corona, and it can be obtained from all international airports of the Kingdom upon arrival.

The Saudi Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Tourism Authority, Ahmed Al-Khatib, said that the Kingdom is today one of the most accessible destinations in the world, whether for tourism, business or the performance of Hajj and Umrah.

Al-Khatib added that this "reinforces the acceleration of the growth of the tourism sector and the provision of job and investment opportunities."

The minister renewed the invitation and welcomed all visitors and tourists from different countries of the world to "enjoy the treasures of Saudi tourism, in terms of destinations, landmarks, culture, heritage, generosity, and hospitality known from the authentic Saudi society."
