Saudi Meteorology: Warnings of scorching heat reaching 50°C, rain, and lightning in 6 regions

The National Center for Meteorology issued a series of weather warnings, including for parts of Makkah, Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, the Eastern Province, and Riyadh, due to the possibility of rain in some areas, heat waves, and temperatures approaching 50 degrees Celsius.

These warnings will continue until 9:00 PM on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, with varying levels of warning between orange and yellow depending on the severity of the weather conditions in each region.

Areas covered by warnings and forecasts for dust, rain, and heatwave for Wednesday, June 10, 2026:

Makkah Region:

• The red alert includes: None.
• Orange alert for "moderate rain" includes: Taif, Maysan,
• Yellow alert: None

Jazan region:

• Red alert: None.
• Orange alert: Al-Harth, Al-Da'ir, Al-Raith, Al-Ardah, Al-Aydabi, Fifa, Haroub
• Yellow alert "light rain" includes:

Al-Baha region:

• The red alert includes : None.
• The orange alert includes: None.
• Yellow alert "Light rain": Al-Baha, Al-Aqiq, Al-Qura, Al-Mandaq, Baljurashi, Bani Hassan.

Asir region:

• The red alert includes: None.
• Orange alert: Al Namas, Balqarn, Tanomah, Rijal Alma, Mahayil, Al Majardah, Bariq, Abha, Ahad Rafidah, Khamis Mushait.
• The yellow alert for "light rain" includes: Al-Harjah, Al-Rabou'ah, Al-Farsha, Sarat Abidah, Dhahran Al-Janoub,

Riyadh region:

• Red alert: None.
• Orange alert: None
• Yellow alert "Heat wave 48 degrees Celsius": Al-Aflaj, Al-Kharj, Al-Dilam, Hawtat Bani Tamim.

Eastern Region:

• Red alert: None.
• Orange alert: "Heat wave 50 degrees Celsius" Al-Ahsa, Al-Adid, Abqaiq.
• Yellow alert "Heat wave 48 degrees Celsius": Al-Nairiyah, Qaryat Al-Ulya, Jubail, Dammam, Khobar, Qatif, Ras Tanura.

The most prominent expected weather phenomena:

• occasionally strong winds
• Lightning, thunder, and thunderbolts
• Reduced or near-zero horizontal visibility
• Light to moderate rain
• heat wave
