<p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr">Weather of Arabia - Director of the Meteorological Department, Mr. Raed Rafid Al Khattab, stated that the winter quarters for the current rainy season 2023/2024 were characterized by rain totals that exceeded the general totals supposed to be achieved for this period in the northern and central regions of the Kingdom, while the rain totals in the rest of the regions were below the general average in particular. In the southern regions, including the southern Jordan Valley, where the southern Jordan Valley received only 4% of the rain in Al-Murabba’iniyah, in addition to Aqaba, which did not witness any rainfall in Al-Murabba’iniyah this season.<br /><br /> Al Khattab added that the rainfall totals achieved in Al-Murabba’iniyah for this season ranged between (0.4 mm - 324.2 mm), with a contribution rate to the general seasonal rain rate between (01% - 55%), and Al-Murabba’iniyah this season is considered the second best in the north and center of the Kingdom. For the last ten rainy seasons after the 2019/2020 season, which usually achieved 30% of the general seasonal average in most regions of the Kingdom, the average rainfall amounts and the percentages achieved by these quadrennials of the general seasonal average in the regions of the Kingdom were as follows:</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><ul style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"><li style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> Northern regions: 216.6 mm, 46% of the general seasonal average</li><li style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> Central-western regions: 173.9 mm, 42% of the general seasonal average</li><li style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> Central-eastern regions: 50.9 mm, 41% of the general seasonal average</li><li style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> Eastern regions by 19.8 mm, or 21% of the general seasonal average</li><li style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> The northern Jordan Valley: 220 mm, 57% of the general seasonal average</li><li style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> The Central Valley: 122.5 mm, 44% of the general seasonal average</li><li style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> The southern valley: 3.0 mm, 4% of the general seasonal average</li><li style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> The southwestern regions: 20.7 mm, 9% of the general seasonal average</li><li style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> Southern regions: 4.4 mm, 8% of the general seasonal average</li></ul><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"><br /> Al Khattab stated that climate studies at the Meteorological Department indicate that the average minimum temperature at Amman Civil Airport during the current season 2023/2024 is the highest in 100 years in the Jordanian climate record of the Amman Civil Airport monitoring station, which reached 7.6 degrees Celsius, which is higher than Its general average was 3 degrees Celsius, while the average daily temperature reached 11.2 degrees Celsius, which is 2.3 degrees Celsius higher than its general average, which is the second highest average daily temperature after the 2009/2010 season, while the average maximum temperature reached 14.9 degrees Celsius, which is 1.8 degrees Celsius higher than average<br /><br /> It is worth noting that the Murabbaniyah rain totals last season 2022/2023 ended with weak rain totals in most regions of the Kingdom, as the Murabbaniyah rains constituted only 8% in the northern and central regions, including the northern Jordan Valley, while they constituted (15%-19%) in the eastern and central regions. The eastern regions, including the central Jordan Valley, while precipitation during the Murabbaniyya period was slightly below its average in the southwestern regions and the southern Jordan Valley, with rates ranging from (24%-29%) of its average for the same period, while the southern regions (Al-Jafr, Ma’an, and Qatranah) witnessed the highest performance in the Murabbaniyah period. Last season, it achieved 73% of its overall seasonal average<br /><br /></p>
