Starting today: Egypt applies new procedures at airports to facilitate arrivals

Weather of Arabia - As of Sunday morning (April 10), the Egyptian airports updated their procedures with the aim of facilitating the entry of those coming to the Arab Republic of Egypt, according to what was announced by EgyptAir. ‏

And a statement by the company said: “In light of the update of the precautionary measures in the airports of the Arab Republic of Egypt to reduce congestion in airports, and with the launch of the operation of the electronic platform (Visit Egypt), EgyptAir calls upon its customers coming from abroad to register on the platform.”

The company stressed the need to obtain the QR Code approval code to enter Egypt and show it at travel airports, in order to facilitate the completion of procedures for those coming to the country.

And she continued, "In the event that the flight date is modified, the passenger can re-register on the platform and retrieve his previously registered data, and he can also create a personal page that enables him to amend his data."

“EgyptAir” stated that “for Egyptians returning from abroad, there is no link between the Visit Egypt application and the electronic passport.”

She indicated that in the event that the passenger extracts the travel ticket at the airport before the flight, he can register via the website, as his data will appear at the Quarantine Department with a distinctive sign indicating that he has priority for review due to the short time between registration and arrival in Egypt.

It is noteworthy that the airport authorities have received a notification from the Preventive Medicine Department at the Ministry of Health and Population, stating that the "Declaration Form" or public health cards for all arrivals to Egypt at various ports have been canceled.

The health notification includes the need for airport quarantine, in coordination with airlines, to encourage those coming from abroad to register on the “Visit Egypt” electronic platform, and to obtain the “QR Code” approval code for entering Egypt.

According to the Egyptian Ministry of Health, the exceptional procedure for disinfecting aircraft will be canceled after each flight and the issuance of a certificate of disinfection for quarantine, and return to routine cleaning and disinfection according to operating schedules.

In the event of a positive or suspected case on board, the aircraft will be disinfected under quarantine supervision, in accordance with the instructions of the World Health Organization, while carefully following the instructions of the aircraft manufacturer in the use of permitted materials on board.

It is noteworthy that Egypt has 11 international airports, 5 international domestic airports, and 13 domestic airports that operate around the clock.
