From the Arabia Weather Center - the outputs of weather maps and computer simulations still indicate expectations that the northern governorates of the Sultanate will be affected on Thursday, February 29, by a cold air front accompanied by a rainy thunder belt that will gradually affect the majority of the governorates, and later cold winds will flow behind this front, causing a decrease in Appreciable temperature, God willing.
It is expected, God willing, that a cold air front will gradually form at dawn and Thursday morning, accompanied by a rain belt affecting the governorates of North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Al Dhahirah and Al Buraimi. This rain will be heavy at times and accompanied by the occurrence of thunderstorms and hail falling in some areas. Especially over the mountains, which leads to massive flow through valleys and reefs and high water levels on the roads.
As Thursday passes, the cold front moves to the east, and the cumulus clouds extend towards the governorates of Al Dakhiliyah, Muscat, and North Al Sharqiyah, especially in the evening hours, and later extend to parts of South Al Sharqiyah.
As for Friday, the chances of rain decrease in most governorates, and the chances of rain are concentrated in the governorates of North Al Sharqiyah and South Al Sharqiyah, especially the dawn and morning hours.
It is expected that a cold air mass will gradually push into the northern atmosphere of the Sultanate and cause a gradual drop in temperatures over the coming days, with the peak of its effect reaching the weekend, so that cold weather will prevail whether during the day or night hours, and it will even be very cold over the mountain highlands with the possibility of Frost and freeze formation on mountain peaks.
