Arab Weather - The latest weather analyses from the Arab Weather Regional Center indicate that the Al Hajar Mountains in the Sultanate of Oman will continue to be affected by unstable weather conditions on Sunday. This is due to the presence of moisture in the middle and upper layers of the atmosphere, coupled with the activity of rising air currents resulting from surface heating during the day.
Cumulus clouds are expected to increase over parts of the Hajar Mountains during the afternoon and evening hours, accompanied by thunderstorms, which may be heavy at times, along with hail and significant lightning activity. This will increase the likelihood of flash floods and sudden overflowing of valleys and ravines.
The effects of these clouds may extend to some areas adjacent to the mountains, accompanied by active downwinds that will stir up dust and sand locally, which requires special attention for those traveling on mountain roads and in open areas.
Additional cumulonimbus clouds are also likely to form over some mountains in the eastern and northern Emirates, possibly accompanied by some rainfall and active surface winds.
Residents and visitors to these areas are advised to monitor weather updates regularly and be wary of the risks of volatile weather, especially in areas prone to flash flooding. They are also advised to avoid highlands during thunderstorms to ensure public safety.
