Arab Weather - Head of the Amman Municipality Committee, Yousef Al Shawarbeh, said on Saturday that there may be closures for a number of high bridges in the event of freezing, "to preserve public safety."
Shawarbeh praised "the efforts of emergency workers and the cooperation of citizens" during a meeting held in the main emergency room in Tla' Al-Ali, in the presence of the city's director, Ahmed Al-Malkawi, the city's deputies, executives and those concerned with the state of emergency.
Shawarbeh stressed the importance of "continuing to work during the next two days with a high level of readiness and morale in the service of the capital and the citizens."
He stressed, "the necessity of maintaining roads, especially in such circumstances, following up on the infrastructure work of the fast-frequency bus projects, and making sure that roads and traffic lights are ready, especially when freezing occurs, and not moving large vehicles in such circumstances in order to preserve the safety of workers."
And he called for "ensure that emergency workers are provided with everything necessary to do their work to the fullest."
