The civil defense deals with 240 fires within 24 hours

Arab Weather - During the past 24 hours, the General Directorate of Civil Defense dealt with 240 fires of agricultural crops, dry herbs, forest trees, and fruit trees with an area of about 5,000 dunams.

The Directorate said in a press statement today, that forest fires and dry weeds are one of the most common accidents relative to the total number of accidents that the civil defense deals with in the summer, as high temperatures and dry weeds are an appropriate circumstance for fire, especially in the absence or non-compliance with safety requirements the public.

It showed that forest fires and dry weeds are accidents that are easy for us to avoid and limit their occurrence because they mostly come as a result of negligent behavior that some may practice, such as setting fires near forest trees, throwing cigarette butts on the edges of roads, arson, or burning grass in areas surrounded by trees, which leads To increase the fire and expand to drain large areas of these trees and therefore difficult to control and extinguish.

The Directorate called for the importance of active participatory relations between governmental and private entities and institutions and activating the voluntary volunteering work to eradicate dry weeds that are usually a cause of fire, especially those on the sidewalks of the roads and in the yards or those located near fruit trees or between forest trees to reduce The possibility of fire in general.

It indicated that it had taken many measures, including providing specialized firefighting mechanisms to deal with forest fires and dry weeds, and in appropriate numbers distributed to the centers spread near the forest areas, in order to achieve the principle of rapid response in dealing with these incidents.

She stressed the necessity of adopting preventive behavior by citizens and concerted national efforts by official and popular bodies to reduce herb and plant fires because of their negative impact on plant wealth as one of the most important capabilities and gains of the dear homeland.
