  • The ITCZ is experiencing a further southward retreat. Seasonal rainfall in southwestern Saudi Arabia is declining to below normal levels for this time of year, with the potential for cloud formation and lighter rainfall. Rainfall also continues over the Hajar Mountains in Oman, extending to parts of the UAE on some days.
  • By the end of the month, the chances of tropical conditions forming in the Arabian Sea are expected to improve, increasing the chances of tropical moisture flowing towards the southern Arabian Peninsula.

  • The region remains under the influence of a subtropical high pressure system. Consequently, the weather remains generally stable and hot in most areas, with low night temperatures. At the same time, rainfall in the southwest of the Kingdom and the Sultanate of Oman is declining, becoming generally limited and localized. This coincides with the continued retreat of the imaginary tropical dividing line towards the south.

  • The tropical high is retreating further southward as cooler upper troughs begin to advance from the north. This coincides with the activity of the Red Sea low at times, which may lead to unstable weather conditions and thunderstorms in parts of northern and central Saudi Arabia, with improved chances of seasonal rain in the Sultanate of Oman.

  • During this period, the chances of cold upper troughs crossing the northern Arabian Peninsula improve, coinciding with the activity of the Red Sea depression. This is accompanied by the formation of unstable conditions and the expansion of thunderstorms to include parts of northern and central Saudi Arabia and the eastern Arabian Peninsula. The chances of cumulus clouds forming over the Sultanate of Oman continue.
