The first of the rainy spells, Ghaith, begins this evening, Thursday, and is classified as a second-degree storm, continuing into Friday.

Yesterday, Wednesday, the Kingdom and the region began to be affected by the rainy weather system “Ghaith”, as heavy thunderstorms fell in large parts of the Kingdom, and the amount of rain in some areas of the capital Amman and the Zarqa Governorate reached approximately 40-50 mm, praise be to God.

Starting this afternoon and evening, the Kingdom will gradually be affected by the first of the rainy weather systems, "Ghaith," which is classified as a second-degree (normal) depression according to the Arab Weather Index for weather depressions. The weather will be cold and cloudy, with rain falling intermittently in various parts of the north, center, and south of the Kingdom. During the night, the rain will gradually become heavy at times , accompanied by thunderstorms and hail, especially during the late night and early morning hours.

On Friday , the northern and central regions will continue to be affected by the rain clouds associated with the low-pressure system, and the weather will be relatively cold to cold, with continued chances of intermittent showers.

The winds will be moderate southwesterly, occasionally becoming active with relatively strong gusts, especially in the afternoon and in the high mountainous areas.

The amount of rainfall recorded with this low-pressure system is expected to range between 10 and 60 mm, God willing.

The rainy weather system known as "Ghaith" is not a single low-pressure system, but rather a series of successive rainy weather events that, God willing, will contribute to improving the rainy season in various regions of the Kingdom. This system is renewed tonight with the current low-pressure system and will continue throughout the Eid al-Fitr holiday, with the Kingdom being affected by another low-pressure system on Saturday, followed by other systems at intervals until the end of March 2026.

The second low-pressure system within the "Ghaith" rainy weather pattern will begin on Friday evening and Saturday night.

On Friday evening, the Kingdom will be affected by a second low-pressure system classified as a second-degree storm, as part of the rainy weather system "Ghaith". Rain will be renewed in various regions of the Kingdom, and the effects of the low-pressure system will continue on Saturday, but its focus will be on the southern regions during the day.
