Amid continued population growth, according to the study, it is expected that the number of vehicles in the year 2030 will reach more than 26 million vehicles, and that the average daily consumption of gasoline and diesel will rise to about 1,860,000 barrels if practical measures are not taken to raise the efficiency of energy consumption and reduce the huge waste in energy consumption. fuel.

It is noteworthy that the "Energy Efficiency Program" aims to raise the efficiency of consumption in vehicles by improving the rate of vehicle fuel economy in the Kingdom by about 4% annually, to move it from its current level of about 12 kilometers per liter of fuel to a level exceeding 19 kilometers per liter of fuel by 2025.
