Arab Weather - The latest satellite images and weather map analyses at Arab Weather indicate that a dense dust wave has been launched from deep within the Libyan desert in recent days, as it began to form as a result of strong surface wind activity in the desert regions, before gradually expanding and affecting large areas of the region.

According to the data, this dust storm extended to include 12 countries, namely: Libya, Egypt, Sudan, Chad, Greece, Cyprus, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, in addition to Iraq, where dusty conditions prevailed to varying degrees, reaching in some areas a significant decrease in horizontal visibility.

Satellite images show that the dust moved across North Africa towards the eastern Mediterranean and the Levant, driven by active south to southwest winds, which contributed to its long-distance travel and widespread dispersal.

Dusty conditions are expected to continue for the next few days, before gradually subsiding as the wind direction changes and its speed decreases, although some dust will remain suspended in the air, especially in desert and open areas.

Experts advise paying attention to respiratory patients and avoiding direct exposure to dust, especially during peak hours, in addition to driving cautiously on roads with reduced horizontal visibility.
