Arab Weather - The Kingdom will be affected, God willing, tonight and on Saturday by the leading edge of a new low-pressure system, the second in the series of rainy weather events, "Ghaith". This low-pressure system will have a direct impact on Saturday evening and night/Sunday, and it has been classified as a third-degree system (moderate to high effectiveness) according to the Arab Weather's index for measuring the intensity of low-pressure systems. It will be accompanied by cold and rainy winter weather in some areas, especially in the southern regions.

The Kingdom will be affected by the leading edge of the low-pressure system late Friday night/Saturday morning, in the form of scattered showers, sometimes accompanied by thunder.

God willing, the Kingdom will be affected in the late hours of Friday/Saturday night by the leading edge of the new low-pressure system, as cloud cover increases and the chance of rain showers is renewed in many areas. These rains may sometimes be accompanied by lightning and thunder, and may be accompanied by local hail showers.

Saturday daytime: Continued chance of showers, especially during the afternoon hours, ahead of a low-pressure system that will affect the region in the evening and at night.

On Saturday, March 21, 2026, temperatures will tend to decrease and the weather will be cold. There will be a chance of scattered showers, separated by periods of clearing clouds and sunshine . The rain will sometimes be accompanied by lightning and thunder, especially in the afternoon.

A third-degree low-pressure system (moderate to high intensity) will begin Saturday evening and night/Sunday morning, bringing heavy rain to several areas, concentrated in the southern regions, including Karak and Tafila.

During the evening and night hours of Saturday/Sunday, the impact of the low pressure system will gradually intensify, turning the atmosphere completely cloudy, with regular rainfall and expanding its scope to include large areas of the Kingdom. The rains will be heavy with chances of lightning, thunder, and local hail, which may lead to the flow of valleys and the formation of torrents and water accumulations.

The impact of the low-pressure system is mainly concentrated in the southern regions, where rainfall is heavy, increasing the risk of flash floods and the occurrence of soil and rock erosion in the affected areas.

Given the soil and ground being saturated with moisture and water, and the heavy rainfall that occurred for several days during the past week, caution is advised regarding:

1) The flow of valleys and ravines
2) The formation of flash floods, including in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea region
3) The occurrence of water accumulations on roads
4) The possibility of soil and rock erosion, especially in southern regions.

Low clouds touching the ground surface will pass through, causing dense fog to form over the high mountain peaks, and the winds will be westerly and moderate in speed.

Sunday, March 22, 2026: The low-pressure system moves away, but there remains a chance of occasional showers.

On Sunday, the weather will be cold and cloudy with rain showers expected, God willing, in some northern, central, and eastern desert regions. These showers may be accompanied by lightning and thunder at times. The winds will be moderate southwesterly.
