The subtropical high pressure in the upper atmosphere over the Arabian Peninsula gradually intensifies during the month, leading to a continuous rise in temperatures. Thermal low pressure systems deepen in eastern Saudi Arabia, resulting in temperatures being warmer than usual in many parts of the Arabian Peninsula and the Gulf countries. The Shamal winds become active at several times during the month, leading to dust storms that reduce horizontal visibility in parts of the east and center of the Kingdom. Thunderstorm clouds also form on some days over parts of the western and southwestern highlands of the Kingdom, leading to rainfall of varying intensity.
