The waves tossed it until it almost drowned... Terrifying moments for a family on the `Carnival Sunshine` ship in the middle of a raging storm

The "Carnival Sunshine" cruise ship is now safe, but a violent storm threatens the fun weekend that everyone on board was having.

One of the passengers documented the strong winds and waves that day, describing the storm as "terrifying", while saying that his family feared that they would not survive if they were thrown into the water.

A video posted online also shows some of the objects floating in the flooded interior corridors.

Storms delayed the ship's return to port in Charleston, North Carolina, while merchant ship officials said it was now sailing on its next voyage.
