Thunderstorms expected in 10 Arab countries during the rest of August!

From the Arab Weather Center - The latest computer simulation results at the Arab Weather Center indicate that 10 Arab countries are expected to witness weather disturbances during the remainder of August, including large parts of the Sahara Desert, which is considered the driest region in the world, amid indications that these disturbances will continue during the month of September, God willing.

10 Arab countries expected to be affected by thunderstorms

Experts at the Arab Weather Center have forecast that seasonal rains will continue in the coming days in Yemen, western Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Somalia and Djibouti, accompanied by rainfall of varying intensity, thunderstorms and hail, with the flow of valleys and ravines. It is also expected, God willing, that summer rains will extend to parts of southern Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and Mauritania, especially the southern parts of these countries.

This extension of summer rains to the north and to areas overlooking the Mediterranean Sea comes as a result of the advance of what is known as the imaginary tropical divide (ITCZ) towards the north in an unusual manner.

Rare rain in the African desert!

God willing, it is expected that rain will fall on large areas of the Sahara Desert, which is considered one of the driest places on Earth, with expectations that a total rainfall equivalent to what falls in several years will fall on those areas, which makes the event exceptional.

Although large amounts of rain are not expected, the low rainfall rate in these areas makes normal amounts of rain falling on the African desert a rare event that occurs once every few years.
