This is due to the collision of moist air currents coming from nearby bodies of water with warm, stable air over mountainous regions, leading to the emergence of local weather disturbances.

Al Hajar Mountains in the Sultanate of Oman and surrounding areas:

Cumulonimbus clouds are expected to increase over parts of the Al Hajar Mountains in the Sultanate of Oman, particularly in the northern and eastern parts. Thunderstorms of varying intensity are possible, which may be accompanied by active winds and thunderstorms in some mountainous areas.

Highlands of southwestern Saudi Arabia and Yemen:

Seasonal thunderstorms are also expected to continue in the highlands of southwestern Saudi Arabia, particularly in the areas bordering Yemen, as well as in the Yemeni highlands, including Sana'a and Taiz. Rainfall may be heavy at times, increasing the likelihood of flash floods in valleys and ravines.
