Arab Weather - Weather forecasts indicate a surge of tropical moisture from the Horn of Africa towards parts of Northwest Africa, coinciding with rising land temperatures and the presence of mountain ranges, creating conditions for the formation of cumulonimbus clouds on a daily basis.
Thunderstorm chances are expected to be concentrated over the coming days over northern Morocco, the northern highlands of Algeria, and northern Tunisia, where thunderstorms will be accompanied by locally heavy rainfall and hail showers, which may lead to the flow of valleys and streams and the formation of torrents in low-lying areas.
The forecast also indicates the possibility of thunderstorms in areas that are among the driest and least rainy, namely the central and southern Sahara of Algeria, where strong thunderstorm belts may form, accompanied by heavy rain, large hail, and strong downdrafts that will cause sandstorms to form around the thunderclouds.
It is also possible that the effects of thunderstorms will extend to parts of the Libyan desert during certain periods, with varying intensity and concentration of weather activity from one area to another.
And God knows best.
