Radiation fog is formed at night and in the early morning hours. It is considered one of the lightest and shortest-lived types of fog, as the Earth’s temperature decreases with radiation, so the warm air rises to the top, so that the air closest to the earth’s surface becomes colder, and in general, the cold air carries less water vapor than the hot air. Thus, water vapor condenses close to the Earth's surface and radiation fog is formed. With the sun shining, which in turn sends its rays to the Earth's surface, the radiation fog disappears.
