Arab Weather App – The latest data from computer weather forecasting models indicates that the United Arab Emirates will be affected by a strong state of atmospheric instability towards the end of the week, characterized by the development of cumulonimbus clouds. This weather system is expected to bring varying intensities of rainfall, becoming heavy in some areas, accompanied by strong thunderstorms and lightning.
In detail, the UAE will be affected at the end of the week by a low-pressure system accompanied by a highly effective cold front. This front will begin crossing the waters of the Arabian Gulf on Thursday evening and night/Friday, as thick thunderclouds will form over the waters of the Gulf and gradually move to various regions of the UAE, especially at dawn and on Friday morning, where rainfall will be organized in large parts of the country. The rain will be heavy at times and accompanied by thunder, starting from the coastal areas overlooking the Arabian Gulf and gradually extending towards the interior regions.
Weather forecasts indicate that the upcoming period of atmospheric instability over the UAE is due to sharp temperature differences between atmospheric layers, accompanied by strong upward air lift, significant activity in rising and descending air currents, and ample atmospheric moisture. This enhances the likelihood of cumulonimbus cloud formation and their development into high-altitude clouds. Consequently, the formation of supercells, also known as green clouds, over some areas of the country during this weather system expected at the end of the week is not unlikely.
These clouds naturally produce, on the ground, very heavy rainfall accompanied by severe thunderstorms and downdrafts whose gusts can exceed 100 km/h, in addition to hail of large sizes and high intensity.
And God knows best.
