Weather of Arabia - Many social media users shared a number of photos and videos that captured the moment the swirling cloud appeared in the Wilayat of Jaalan in the Sultanate of Oman.

This cloud is scientifically known as (Roll Cloud) and is a type of beautiful cloud that appears in a cylindrical shape and is often formed along the coasts and above bodies of water. The cold front plays an important role in the formation of these clouds, as it is formed as a result of the movement of cold air over warm water, causing cooling of the hot air rising from the sea surface. This cooling leads to the condensation of moisture in the air and the formation of clouds.

Thermal inversion (when warmer air is at the top and cooler air is at the bottom) also plays a prominent role in the formation of these clouds.
