Weather of Arabia - Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced the Kingdom's contribution of $2.5 billion, in support of the Green Middle East Initiative over the next 10 years.

"The Kingdom aspires to coordinate cooperation to implement plans and face common challenges," Prince Mohammed bin Salman said during the COP27 climate summit held in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh.

Bin Salman added: "We aim to plant 10 billion trees, and increase the number of land and marine reserves to 30% of the total national area."

And he added, "We will rely on renewable energy to produce 50% of the electricity in 2030," as the Saudi Crown Prince announced that the Kingdom will host the headquarters of the Green Middle East Initiative.
