Arab Weather - The latest weather maps have detected a noticeable expansion of polar air around the Arctic Circle, with increased activity in the polar jet stream. As the astronomical fall begins, the weather in large areas of far northern Europe, parts of Russia and Canada will begin receiving extremely cold low pressure systems that will bring heavy rain and snow to some areas.
This is expected to subsequently increase the chances of cold air masses moving towards wider areas of the northern hemisphere, contributing to an early feeling of cold weather in some areas and increasing the chances of low-pressure systems, unstable weather conditions, rainfall, and possibly snow.
The polar vortex is a large area where cold air gathers and circulates counterclockwise around the North Pole and clockwise around the South Pole. It begins to develop at the beginning of autumn and increases in strength as autumn progresses and during winter, when the air over the polar regions cools significantly.
The polar vortex is found in the very high layers of the atmosphere (the stratosphere) and affects the weather in the lower layers as well. The cohesion and strength of the polar vortex in the high layers of the atmosphere and its subsequent cooling are reflected in the layers close to the Earth's surface, and thus the greater cohesion of polar air masses and their subsequent expansion, which affects weather patterns mainly in areas close to the Arctic Circle and later other latitudes.
The undulation of the polar jet stream is a major factor influencing polar air movement. Weather maps already detect activity in the movement and undulation of the polar jet stream, which is reflected in the push of cold air toward the mid-latitudes and later the low latitudes, accelerating the drop in temperatures and bringing cold weather that increases the likelihood of weather fluctuations and early rain in some areas.
Indeed, weather maps indicate that cold air masses are rushing towards central and southern Europe. This is highlighted by the approach of colder air masses to the Arab countries bordering the central Mediterranean, and the occurrence of weather fluctuations in the weather in these regions, which heralds the recurrence of rain chances in the Maghreb countries and the emergence of cases of atmospheric instability.
It seems that some Arab countries located in the eastern Mediterranean will have their share of the impact of the jet stream, as it is expected that a relatively cold upper trough will succeed in approaching the eastern Mediterranean basin by the end of this week, which will lead, God willing, to a drop in temperatures in the countries of the Levant, Egypt and northern Saudi Arabia, with an increase in the chances of unstable weather conditions in parts of Lebanon and Syria, in addition to the State of Palestine and Jordan. This weather is accompanied by a drop in temperature and the chances of scattered rain in some areas.
