Weather of Arabia - The Saudi national team is looking forward to recording its first victory in its confrontations with the Egyptian team, after the draw was made alongside the South American team in the group stage of the 2022 World Cup.
The Saudi national team signed during the draw ceremony, which was held at the Doha Exhibition and Conference Complex, in Group C along with the Argentine, Mexican and Polish teams.
The two sides had previously met 4 times, two of which were in the Australian Gold Cup in 1988, which included Australia and Brazil along with the two sides of Group C in the 2022 World Cup.
The first meeting ended in a 2-2 draw, with Saudi Arabia's Majed Abdullah and Hernan Edgardo Diaz scoring through his own net, while the player's own record scored the "Albiceleste" double. In the second meeting during the same tournament, Argentina won the double of Diego Simeone and Oscar Dercia.
In 1992, when Saudi Arabia hosted the first edition of the Confederations Cup, the host lost 1-3 to Argentina, Leonardo Rodriguez, Claudio Canigia and Diego Simeone scored for the guests, while Saeed Al-Owairan scored the only goal.
