Arab Weather - The Levant and Arabian Peninsula region is affected by a Siberian cold wave, amid harsh cold weather and extremely low temperatures in all regions, but today, Thursday, January 22, 2026, and in the coming days, unstable weather conditions are expected.
God willing, the intense air mass over the region is expected to cause unstable weather conditions, initially concentrated on Syria and Iraq. A snowstorm is expected to hit large areas of northern Syria today and until Friday morning, particularly the border areas with Turkey, including the governorates of Aleppo, Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor, Idlib, and a number of other northern regions and governorates, in addition to the highlands of the Syrian coast, amidst a significant drop in temperatures to below zero degrees Celsius.
The snow also includes the high mountain peaks in Lebanon and southern Syria.
In Iraq: Unstable weather conditions will continue tomorrow, Friday, and a snowstorm will hit most of the Kurdistan highlands in northern Iraq, while rain and hail showers will fall on the rest of the regions.
Saudi Arabia and Kuwait : Unstable weather conditions will affect the regions of Tabuk, Al-Jawf, the Northern Borders, Hail, and possibly parts of Madinah, Al-Qassim, and the northern part of the Eastern Province. Rain of varying intensity is expected on Friday and Saturday, accompanied by thunder and sometimes hail.
As for Kuwait , the same unstable weather conditions will arrive on Saturday, with rain falling in many areas.
And God knows best.
