Urgent - Libya is under disaster Derna declared a disaster city.. and the number of victims exceeded 150 people

Weather of Arabia - The official authorities in Libya recently declared the city of Derna a disaster area, as Storm Daniel caused huge amounts of rain and widespread floods that caused the entire city to sink. The authorities also announced that the death toll in the city of Derna alone exceeded 150 people.

The authorities have almost confirmed that the toll is not final, and that the number of victims is still constantly rising in light of the presence of dozens of missing people who were swept away by the floods and the difficulty of reaching all affected areas in light of the interruption of the road network.

The local authorities announced that the situation was out of control inside them, even in areas where damage was not expected, noting that families had been evacuated to hotels and care homes, while the number of people stranded inside their homes remains undetermined.

Video clips circulated on social media platforms showed citizens screaming for help and screaming for help from their homes, while others documented floods sweeping away citizens and cars in streets that turned into rivers. Other clips also showed rescue teams from the Libyan Army and the Red Crescent trying to evacuate people.
