Arabia Weather - The solar corona is a pale gaseous envelope that surrounds the sun. It represents its irregular outer shell. It is located above the color layer of the sun known as the chromosphere. The temperature of the corona gases reaches millions of degrees and flows away from the surface of the sun to form what is known as the solar wind. The solar corona can be seen during a total solar eclipse.
