Weather of Arabia - Some individuals may find themselves able to do without using a mobile phone for a few hours a day, waiting for an opportunity to charge using the charger and electrical socket, and when the time comes to charge the phone, the person returns to communicating with others and following up on events.

However, in some remote areas or those prone to disasters such as earthquakes, floods and wars, communication loss and phone battery drain can be a critical point between life and death.

Therefore, we provide some practical and simple tips that individuals can follow to charge their mobile phones in the absence of electricity sources, whether in remote areas or during natural disasters.

Use your body to operate the phone

The human body is a natural source of energy production, as it releases electrical signals during vital activity. At rest, the body produces about 100 watts of energy, and when intense physical efforts are made, up to 2000 watts can be produced in one moment. In both cases, the amount of energy generated is sufficient to charge your mobile phone.

The main idea is to figure out how to convert this energy into an electrical current that is used to charge a personal phone.

This technology relies on the use of a charging cable and several simple materials such as coins, a piece of paper, and an iron paper clip. The following steps can be followed:

  • Connect the USB charger to your phone, then connect the paper clip to the USB connector on the other end that is supposed to be inserted into the head of the charger that is plugged in.
  • Insert the piece of paper between the outside of the USB connector and the paper clip.
  • Hold one coin on each side of the USB connector using two fingers.
  • The electrical charge passed between your fingers will generate enough current to revive your phone, and although the process takes some time, it is an effective alternative to a traditional phone charger.

Using onions and energy drinks

This technique raises some controversy over its effectiveness in a variety of circumstances, but it seems worth a try. All you have to do is drill some holes in the sides of a large onion using a metal screwdriver, then immerse it in an energy drink for half an hour using a clean, deep dish.

After that, the bulb can be removed and dried, and a USB cable can then be connected to it.

Although some may question the ability of an onion to produce enough electricity to fully charge a phone, several bulbs can be used together to obtain enough charge to unlock the phone and send a distress message capable of saving you.

Charge your phone using fruit

There are many videos on YouTube showing people charging their phones using fruit juices, such as lemon, orange, apple, or even banana.

According to the technology, which still needs many trials to ensure its effectiveness, energy can be generated from fruits by inserting two metal wires, one of zinc and one of copper, into the fruit, to create two electrodes, positive and negative.

The acid in the fruit then begins to react with those electrodes, creating a small voltage that's enough to charge a phone.

However, it should be noted that one piece of fruit will not help much, as it is believed that an iPhone, for example, may need approximately 600 oranges to fully charge the device.

Use of batteries (AAA)

By using regular batteries such as 9-volt or AAA stones and batteries, a slow and minimal charge can be generated to operate the phone. Since these batteries are used in most household appliances, they may prove effective in emergency situations. To apply this method, you will need the following items:

  • Car phone charger.
  • 9 volt battery.
  • Suitable USB cable and any necessary adapters.
  • An electrically conductive piece of metal, such as a key or a metal paper clip.

Here are the steps:

  • Connect the cable to the charger, then attach the switch or paper clip to the side of the charger so that it touches the negative terminal, and its bottom is flush with the positive terminal.
  • Secure it with insulating tape, then touch the positive (charger) and negative (switch/paperclip) terminals to the positive and negative terminals of the battery.
  • The phone will start charging slowly, and although you may get a very small amount of charge from a single battery, it will be enough for quick emergencies.

Use of other electronic devices

If you are lucky enough to still have charge remaining in your laptop battery, you can easily use the charging from this device to power your phone, and all you have to do is connect the USB connector of the phone charger to the available USB port on your laptop.
