Arabia Weather - The Regional Cloud Seeding Program announced the results of its operational operations related to research and cloud seeding for the year 2023 AD, as it targeted 6 regions through 415 cloud seeding flights for a duration of 1,312:45 flight hours , in addition to 36 research flights for a duration of 111:29 flight hours using 4 rain seeding planes and a research plane. . And

During these flights, approximately 7,876 flares were seeded , resulting in 15 minutes of rainfall totaling an estimated 4 billion cubic metres, based on the program's research studies.

The Executive Director of the program, Ayman Al-Bar, explained that the program has so far completed 4 stages, covering most regions of the Kingdom, while work is currently underway within the fifth stage. He pointed out that the cloud seeding technology aims to increase the quantity and quality of rain for certain types of clouds, by stimulating And accelerating the process of rain falling on pre-defined areas, by using designated aircraft to seed fine materials that do not negatively affect the environment in specific areas of the clouds. He stressed that this technology contributes to maintaining water balance in a safe, flexible, and affordable manner.
