Arab Weather - Sinan Khalaf - The latest weather analyses issued by the Arab Weather Regional Center indicate that large parts of the Sultanate of Oman will continue to be affected by atmospheric instability tomorrow, Monday. This is part of the effects of the summer monsoon rains, which are expected to intensify and expand to include the mountains in the east and north of the UAE.
During the afternoon and evening hours of Monday, cumulus clouds are expected to increase over the Al Hajar Mountains, accompanied by heavy thunderstorms that could lead to flash floods and the flow of valleys and ravines. Hail, lightning, and intense lightning are also possible, urging caution, especially in low-lying areas.
The effects of the weather conditions will gradually extend to some mountainous areas in the northern and eastern Emirates, such as Al Ain, Fujairah, and Ras Al Khaimah, where cumulus clouds will increase in the afternoon and evening hours, accompanied by rainfall of varying intensity, in addition to active surface winds that stir up dust.
Forecasts warn of downward winds accompanied by thunderstorms, which may cause local dust storms and reduce horizontal visibility, especially on mountain roads and open areas in both Oman and the UAE.
